Auditorium

A World-Class Concert Hall

The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium, which was designed by Artec Consultants Inc., is considered one of the finest concert halls in North America, with exceptional acoustics. The designers created a warm intimate space in harmony with a wide range of technological advances and features.

Features

The concert ceiling canopy may be raised or lowered; the orchestra pit lifts (which usually hold seats) may be used to extend the stage into the audience chamber; 14 large moveable panels may be used to create an orchestra shell; and draperies covering the inner walls may be used to soften or enliven the sound. See our Technical Information for a full description of our sound, light, and stage inventory.

In addition to these theatre configuration and acoustic variables, the Auditorium maintains state-of-the-art equipment to fulfill the range of requirements of local presenters and large touring companies. The stage can also become an intimate cabaret set up called the "Stage Door", with tables and seating on the stage itself.

The Auditorium seats 1497 on three levels; orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony. Included in this seating are two levels of loges along the sides of the auditorium. See our Seating Chart for further information on our seating map.
